Wilsons Advisory’s board appoints new Chairman, Mr John Prendiville
Wed 13th July, 2022

Wilsons Advisory is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr John Prendiville as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Wilsons Advisory CEO Brad Gale said “We are very pleased to welcome John to the firm. He has outstanding experience in capital markets as a leader and senior executive at Macquarie Bank, a director on numerous boards, as well being an active investor as Chairman of Point Capital. John also brings experience in private wealth and is particularly excited about the opportunity to further enhance our capabilities and grow this business”. The appointment reinforces Wilsons Advisory long term strategy to deliver expert capabilities to their clients and to pursue further growth in each of their market segments.

John Prendiville succeeds Neil Craig, founder of Craigs Investment Partners which is New Zealand’s pre-eminent investment bank and private wealth manager. Craigs is chaired by Sir Ralph Norris who is an active investor in the firm and has partnered with Wilsons Advisory to deliver outstanding client solutions across both Australia and New Zealand. Wilsons Advisory has greatly valued Neil’s contributions to date and are excited about the opportunities that sustained collaboration between the Craigs and Wilsons Advisory teams will bring into the future.

Of recent note is the work being done to support private clients, including dynamic asset allocation solutions and investment strategy ideas in international or alternative asset markets. Collaboration between the investment banking teams has also proven valuable, delivering cross border advisory solutions for companies and access for institutional investors and high net worth investors to sought after IPOs, secondary market transactions and private capital opportunities.

Wilsons Advisory continues to preserve its partnership philosophy and promotes excellence through the opportunity for people to attain ownership of the business. Brad said “Our staff are our most important asset, so it makes perfect sense for them to be the custodians of the equity in the firm. It is a perfect alignment that encourages all of our decisions to be made in the long term interests of our clients and our people. Our Equity Partners shape the future direction and influence the operational decisions of our business, which ensures we are focused on what is most important”.

It is anticipated that the appointment of new Equity Partners will be announced later in July at the Wilsons Advisory Annual Meeting to review business performance and priorities. Despite a tumultuous time in capital markets, Wilsons Advisory will report another successful year with expanded client services, growing revenue and higher assets under advice. The new partner announcements are likely to include a combination of high performers across the firm, the next generation of leaders, and of course the new Chairman John Prendiville.
